“Le donne, i cavalier, l'arme, gli amori”

A themed photography contest organized by WTC Malpensa with the technical collaboration of the Fotoclub Il SESTANTE of Gallarate. The contest is open to anyone who wishes to explore the tools offered by digital photography to discover and nurture their inner artist.This year’s edition is inspired by the opening lines of Ludovico Ariosto’s Orlando Furioso and involves the Cultural Food and Wine Association “I CAVALIERI DEL FIUME AZZURRO”, organizer of the 28th Historical Re-enactment of the Battle of Tornavento, with the aim of celebrating Italy’s rich heritage of historical re-enactments.The contest invites participants to document scenes from palios, jousts, knightly tournaments, and costumed parades. Not only folklore, but a visual narrative of a collective memory that survives through ancient gestures and spectacular choreography.To capture that timeless atmosphere where history blends with performance, enhancing the aesthetic beauty and cultural value of local Italian traditions.The Historical Re-enactment of the Battle of Tornavento of 1636, whose 390th anniversary falls this year, will open this photography contest on June 26, 27, and 28, 2026.
