The World Trade Center Malpensa Airport is pleased to announce a new edition of its photography competition, entitled “Le donne, i cavalier, l'arme, gli amori ...”.
The 2026 theme, inspired by the celebrated opening lines of Ludovico Ariosto’s Orlando Furioso, invites photographers, enthusiasts and curious observers alike to capture, through imagery, the rich heritage of Italian historical re-enactments: palios, jousting tournaments, knightly games, historical processions in costume, and all those events that continue to preserve the collective memory and traditions of our country.
The works selected by the technical jury of FOTOCLUB IL SESTANTE of Gallarate / Varese will be exhibited within the spaces of the WORLD TRADE CENTER and promoted through dedicated communication channels, forming an exhibition journey in which photography becomes a medium for storytelling, testimony, and interpretation of Italy’s historical and cultural heritage.
Among the highlights of this fourth edition is the Special Prize “Cavalieri del Fiume Azzurro”, dedicated to the best photograph taken during the Re-enactment of the Battaglia di Tornavento, scheduled to take place from 25 to 30 June 2026.
The prizes awarded by the Jury include a plaque for each of the top three winners. The overall winner will also be awarded two annual passes to the Museums of Lombardy and Valle d’Aosta, together with a dinner for two at the Ex-Dogana restaurant in Lonate Pozzolo. The second- and third-place winners will likewise receive a dinner for two at the same restaurant. The Jury may also award additional prizes and special mentions to particularly deserving works.
Photographs may be submitted until 11:59 p.m. on 31 October 2026. The results will be published by 30 November 2026 on the official WTC Malpensa website and communicated directly to participants. The awards ceremony will take place during the Christmas Party 2026, organised by the Management of the WORLD TRADE CENTER Malpensa Airport.
